Wellness Recovery Action Plan (WRAP) Training

Empowering People to Take Control of their Wellness

Wellness Recovery Action Plan (WRAP) is a self-management and recovery system developed to provide wellness tools for people with behavioral health and substance use challenges. The plans help people to manage their recovery while enhancing their quality of life. WRAP has been widely-acclaimed by behavioral health leaders as an effective means to help people reduce the duration and frequency of distressing feelings and troubling behaviors.

Working with trained behavioral health professionals, a person experiencing challenges receives a highly-individualized plan to respond to their symptoms. The combination of specific responses and wellness tools promotes empowerment and enables the person to maintain control of their recovery and wellness. If the symptoms prevent the person from making decisions, the WRAP provides specific direction and advice to family and other significant person(s) to assist during that time.

DBHIDS offers a comprehensive training program to help people develop a personalized Wellness Recovery Action Plan. The 2-day WRAP training provides an orientation to WRAP concepts and gives people an opportunity to develop their own WRAP plan. The 5-day facilitator training provides a more in-depth study of WRAP and the opportunity to receive certification as WRAP group facilitators. Both programs are offered throughout the year.
