Removing Barriers to Success in School Student Assistance Programs serve as an important way to identify students that might be dealing with issues that impede their learning and functioning, such as drugs, alcohol, substance abuse, depression or other behavioral or mental health disorders. An assessment is completed by a behavioral health professional. This is followed by a consultation with the student, his/her family and sometimes school staff to decide what action to take. Agency staff help families decide among available options and often facilitate treatment referrals. If you are a parent or family member and you need support for your child, please contact: School District of Philadelphia Office of Specialized Services 440 North Broad Street, 2nd Floor Philadelphia, PA 19130 (215) 400-4170 Student Assistance Program Providers: Albert Einstein Medical Center CORA Services Inc.
