Day Partial Transformation

This is the process of transforming the traditional partial hospitalization program to a more recovery-oriented program. This is done by incorporating various psychiatric rehabilitation approaches to the traditional treatment model. The overall goal of the transformation process is to promote and encourage community integration, peer culture, family inclusion, and recovery planning.

Detoxification

The process whereby a drug or alcohol-intoxicated or dependent client is assisted through the period of time necessary to eliminate (by metabolic or other means) the presence of the intoxicating substance or dependency factors, while keeping the physiological or psychological risks to the client at a minimum. This process should also include efforts to motivate and support the client to seek formal treatment after the detoxification process.

Discharge

When services are completed or terminated with a particular treatment provider.

Disparities in Healthcare

Differences in access, quality, and/or outcomes of health care based on such issues as race, ethnicity, culture, gender, sexual or religious orientation, social class, or geographic region.
